About this course

Bike Shop Grades 3 to 5 is a free 12-week online course on how a bicycle works and how to keep one safe. Kids name the parts and their jobs, test pushes and pulls, explore friction in tires and brakes, count gear teeth to predict wheel turns, measure patterns of motion, check helmet fit, test which materials reflect light, see how a flat is found and fixed, and make a pre-ride quick check card. They finish by designing a better bike part. A grown-up handles every tool. Saturday is Bike Shop Day with the family.
